Today I had a fun time and great time making milkshake and it was ifo as my teacher was Ms tuipulotu and that I learned lots of things from her because we learned how to keep ourselves safe in the kitchen and it was good because it can help me to do this at home and college.

What I liked was that we get to make it and drink it.
My buddy was Sene he was a great Buddy because me and him comes from the same class and knows how to make thing out of food and cook.

World’s largest single lotto wina

IALA:World’s largest single lotto win

Today I was reading something about World’s largest single lotto win
The world’s largest Lotto win has occurred in the United states.
Mavis Wanczyk, a health centre worker from Massachusetts, was the sole winner of the US Powerball lottery, in which she won $1.04billion NZD.
When Mavis, 53, was asked yesterday if she was going back to the job where she has worked for 32 years, she said: “I called them and told them I will not be coming back.”
The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s jackpot: 6, 7, 16, 23, 26. The Powerball was 4. Winners must have all five numbers as well as the Powerball.
The jackpot had been growing without a winner since June 10, and it’s the second-largest in U.S. history. The largest was $1.6 billion in 2016, which was shared by three winning tickets. Wednesday’s contest was reported to be the largest grand prize won by a single lottery ticket in U.S. history.
The odds of winning are only about 1 in 292 million. By comparison, the odds of being killed by lightning in any given year, according to National Geographic, are 1 in 700,000.

Jaffa Run in Dunedin

IALA:Jaffa Run in Dunedin

On Saturday in Dunedin the annual Cadbury Jaffa Race was held.

The crowd was a little less than usual but the race still raised $73,000 for local charities.  The event was the first since it was confirmed the Cadbury factory in Dunedin would close early next year, putting hundreds of people out of work.

It also had to be postponed from its usual July date because of bad weather that caused flooding in Otago.  This year there were three Cadbury Jaffa Races with up to 25,000 Cadbury Jaffas in each race.

The Jaffas are release at the top of Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world.  The race has been held since 2001 and has raised more than $600,000 for charities.

Jaffas have been made in Dunedin since 1931, and New Zealanders consume an average of 66,000 of Jaffas a day!

Man uses chicken nugget to catch record fish

IALA:About someone use chicken nugget to catch record fish

today I was reading something cool and it is  Man uses chicken nugget to catch record fish is that cool I would love to do that when I go fishing and If I get  one I wish it to be a big on.What  don't like if it was a big one and I get pull from it because it strong I be scared. And A fisherman in Texas was able to reel in a large fish using an unusual form of bait — a McDonald’s chicken McNugget.
Matthew McNellis and his girlfriend caught the bass on Lake Bardwell.
A slow start to the fishing trip prompted McNellis’ girlfriend to suggest using the chicken nugget as bait. And it worked in the couple’s favor.
“That big ‘ole fish smacked a hold of it,” McNellis said. “We thought it was a catfish it was so big. But, it was the biggest bass I’ve ever seen.”

Police Guinea Pig Mascot dies

IALA:Police Guinea Pig Mascot dies

Today I was reading about the Police Guinea Pig Mascot dies.
The New Zealand police’s much-loved guinea pig mascot has died.“Constable Elliot” – with his own blue uniform similar to that worn by our Kiwi cops – was revealed earlier this year as the latest recruit teaching Kiwis to drive slowly.
But police announced some sad news on Twitter yesterday.“It’s with great sadness that we announce Constable Elliot’s passing #constableelliot #rip #nzpolice #safercommunitiestogether.”
Elliot was based with the Wellington Police team.Constable Elliot urged motorists to slow down when driving, in particular near schools.
“Remember people, the kids are going to be out and about walking and biking and crossing roads.
“Like me they are small and unpredictable so you have to watch out.”

WALT: To practice our multiplications.

This worksheet is to help us with our multiplications. There are more to do but I couldn't write them all down on my Chromebook. What I found challenging was trying to find the answers for some of the answers but I'm starting to find it easy. I still go two and a half rows to go and when I finish it then I'll blog it. What I found easy was the answers that I already know.

3 x 4=129 x 6=53 x 8=24
7 x 9 =634 x 6=249 x 9=81
12 x 4=485 x 9=454 x 4=12
3 x 6=306 x 6=363 x 3=9
2 x 9=187 x 7=499 x 6=54
12 x 7=839 x 3=2712 x 8=86
4 x 3=121 x 3=32 x 4=8
8 x 3=245 x 2=109 x 5=45
12 x 5=609 x 7=638 x 12=96
11 x 6=669 x 2=189 x 9=81
4 x 4=160 x 7=05 x 12=60
8 x 3=237 x 6=42
2 x 4=87 x 5=35
8 x 12=968 x 3=24
9 x 9=819 x 3=27
5 x 12=605 x 12=60
4 x 3=1212 x 11=132
11 x 6=661 x 3=3
11 x 8=880 x 7=0
7 x 8=565 x 6=30
9 x 8=722 x 9=18
0 x 8=012 x 7=84

White Koala Born In Australia.

WALT: Reflect on an article that we have read.
In Queensland Australia zoo a white Koala has been born.

She is not albino. Zoo keepers say that her white hair is due to recessive gene inherited from her mother who has given birth to another pale baby Koala. In science it is referred to the silvering gene which is when and animal is born with white or pale fur.

At this stage the zoo keepers are looking for a name, social media has already given some suggestions like Snowflake, Pearl, Sugar, Lily, Snow and White and Baringa which means dawn or light in the aboriginal language.

Koala's are slowly decreaseing due to bush fires, disease and dog attacks. She is one of the twelve baby Koala's born at the zoo this season. I think this article is great because I have never heard of a white Koala until now. What I found challenging was trying to summarise this into my own words, what I didn't find challenging was getting an image suitable for this article.

If I had to chose a name for the Koala it would be Snowflake I don't know why I would chose it but I just think it suits the baby Koala.

IALT: Reflect on an article that we have read.
Pero Cameron, the Tall Blacks and Kiwi hoops legend has become the first New Zealander to be inducted into international governing body Fiba Hall of Fame.
The achievement was announced by Fiba who confirmed he would be inducted at a ceremony in Geneva in late September.
Cameron is a nine-time New Zealand NBL winner as a player, two-time champion coach, two-time Olympian, and attended three world championships with the Tall Blacks.
He was also a 2006 Commonwealth Games silver medallist and appeared in hundreds upon hundreds of games in the black singlet over an illustrious 17-year international career. He is arguably New Zealand’s finest ever player.

NZ to send troops to Afghanistan

IALA:NZ to send troops to Afghanistan

Today New Zealand will send three extra people to Afghanistan to help support NATO.
Just days after US President Donald Trump called for NATO allies to boost military capabilities in Afghanistan, New Zealand’s government confirmed troop numbers will grow by 30 per cent.
It means New Zealand Defence Force’s involvement will be increased from 10 personnel to 13 – all of whom are non-combatants.
“New Zealand will continue to stand alongside our partners in supporting stability in Afghanistan and countering the threat of international terrorism,” he added.
New Zealand forces are deployed as mentors to cadets at Kabul’s National Army Officer Academy.
If you want to know more about this go on kiwi kids news.

All Blacks retain Bledisloe Cup

IALT: Write something about all blacks.

On saturday  The All Blacks have retained the Bledisloe Cup for 2017, beating Australia in pulsating game 35-29.
A last gasp try through first-five Beauden Barrett with two minutes remaining to defeat Australia.
Tries to Israel Folau, Michael Hooper and Bernard Foley - the first of which after just 26 seconds - handed the Wallabies a shock 17-0 lead after 15 minutes.
Yet the All Blacks slowly clawed their way back against a ferocious Australian defense, pushing in front through Barrett with 20 minutes remaining before a see-sawing final quarter was decided by the No.10 with two minutes left.
  1. Trots den sejr og beholdede Cup, træneren Steve Hansen vil være mere enn en touch skuffet med sine tropper, som satte opp en careless performance.
What I liked about this is that New Zealand won and because it was funny cause my little  brother was going for Australia but they end up losing, what I did not like was that the wallabies were first winning in the first  half but when it came To the second  half the all blacks smash them by getting tries to win the game.

IALT:Learn my time tables.

Today  me and my friend was learning our time tables and it was   fun because we were  using the cards to help us with our time tables what  we did was we had to pick a time table number and we  used number  4.Whatever card he puts down we have to mutliply it by 4.

What I like about this game is that it helps me a lot with my time table facts and it was fun playing it because we also get to race each other.
What I didn't like was there were some people that didn't know their times tables and  they took too long to answer  but I told them to remember to work on their times tables because  it will help them  a lot.

Kiwi Multiplication Game

IALA:A game call  Kiwi Multiplication Game.

Today me and my friend Matthew was playing Kiwi Multiplication Game and it was fun because we had to times it if you want to know about this and how to play it here it is down below.

  • To Practice 2,5 and 10 times talbes and the corresponding divison facts
  • You need

Game board
Spinner or dice with 1,2,3,1,2,3
One counter per player
Two,Three or four player
  • How to play
  • Each player chooses a kiwi to start on and places their counter on that kiwi.
  • One player at a time takes their tun to throw the dice (or spin the spinner) and moves forward that number of spaces. When they land on a number they must say a multiplication problem that results in that number or a division problem that begins with that number. For example, if they land on a 30 they might say 3 times 10 is 30 or 6 times 5 is 30 or 30 divided by 10 is 3 or 30 divided by 6 is 5.

  •  If they are correct they are safe and pass the dice on to the next player. If they are incorrect or cannot come up with an equation they move back two spaces. The first kiwi to reach the nest is the winner. Variations: Two players with two kiwis each. Change the rules to allow doubles or halves as well.
What I enjoyed was that it wans't that challgneing for me and that i keep wining what I didn't like was I keep wining I would like to do something else that is challenging for me.
