IALA:New Zealand celebrates Maori Language Week

Today Te reo is being celebrated this week in New Zealand.  The theme for this year is Kia ora te reo Māori which means, “Let the Māori Language live”.

  Maori Language Week is about raising awareness about te reo in New Zealand and promoting the language.  According to Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori – the Māori Language Commission 130,000 people have conversational fluency, 300,000 are learning at school and 10,000 are learning in tertiary education.  

This Thursday, September 14, marks the day in 1972 that the Māori Language Petition was delivered to Parliament. The petition, initiated by activist group Nga Tamatoa, contained more than 30,000 signatures, and paved the way for Māori language to be taught in schools.  For more information about the week visit: www.tetaurawhiri.govt.nz/events-and-promotions/maori-language-week.

Hello readers,  During the holidays we have changed the login system to our website.  There are 2 ways to login to the website.  OPTION  1 – When students want to access premium content they will be asked for a username and password. Please use your username and password from the front of your homework booklet.  OPTION 2 – Students can also login by going to the main menu and clicking on the LOGIN button. Once students are signed in this will enable them to access the entire site.

The tall blacks - Pero Cameron

IALT: Reflect on an article that we have read.

Pero Cameron, the Tall Blacks and Kiwi hoops legend has become the first New Zealander to be inducted into international governing body Fiba Hall of Fame. 

The achievement was announced by Fiba who confirmed he would be inducted at a ceremony in Geneva in late September. 

Cameron is a nine-time New Zealand NBL winner as a player, two-time champion coach, two-time Olympian, and attended three world championships with the Tall Blacks.

IALA:How to use cards to work on our times talbe.

Today me and my friends were using the cards to work on our time talbe.

What I loved about this was that we were having fun and working tegether also teaching others how to play.

What we need to work on next time is to make sure I know my time talbes and to never give up and what I love to do with others and play with.

If you want to know how to play this game here it is down below.

First you got to get some pack of card to use.

Then you put two at a time together on the talbe.

And then you have to times it like for Ex - if you put 3 and 8 then you times it like 3 x 8 = 24

Vector Wero Whitewater Park

WALT:Found subject and reach about whitewater park.

Today me and my two buddy Matthew and Sene were talking about whitewater park and that we are also going to go whitewater park as well too I wish to go but I can't because I am leaving I wonder what they are going to be doing there I think that they are going to have fun and that I wish I go but I am not.

I enjoyed working with my friends and founding facts about whitewater park and that I can tell that they are going to have a fun time there.

I found challening was trying to found some ideas about what I need for my work

Technology Cooking

IAL:How to cook muffins.

Today I was cooking muffins and we had fun cooking them.

My friend sene was my buddy for cooking and we all had buddy for cooking the ingredients  that we used was.

1. Step 1 I/2 C.of S.R.flour
2. 2 - 1/2 c of sugar
3. Wet ingredients 
4. Step 1 - 1/2 C of milk
5. 1/3 C of oil 
6. 1 egg 
7. Topping 
8. Si Tsp of brown sugar - 1 Tsp of cinnamon - 1 Tsp of Jam.

What I enjoyed was cooking with my friend and having a great time.

What I need to work on is to make sure I am doing the right thing.

IALT:Show how I got the Answer and how to solve the answer 

Today me and my class was doing maths and that we were learning about how to find Fraction of a set using multiplication and division.

And me and my friend was working on our maths work about Fraction and that the answer I was doing was 2/5 of 81 I know this becuase 81/9=9 and 9x9=81 becuase the 2 repersent the 2/5 Now that I know what 2/5 of 81 =9

What I need to work on is how to show them how i work it out and to be albe to exsplame them.
